TIME FOR PLAY AT SWANSEA YMCA AS CELEBRATIONS KICK OFF CENTENARY YEAR

Schoolhouse Daycare Limited has opened the doors for 48 children at a new nursery in Swansea’s YMCA.

Officially opened last year, the refurbished YMCA venue is preparing to celebrate 100 years at its building on The Kingsway and now boasts a gym, nutritional training centre, cafe and theatre along with the new childcare facilities that will be run by Swansea based Schoolhouse Daycare.

Twenty staff will be employed at the nursery which has space for 20 babies and 28 children aged two years old and over.  Benefitting from brand new equipment throughout, the nursery holds IIP Gold status and is currently working towards the prestigious NDNA Quality Counts award.

With some 90 staff, Schoolhouse Daycare Limited is owned and managed by Director Amanda Bennett. The company also has nurseries in Singleton,Carmarthen, Neath Port Talbot and Bridgend as well as running the DVLA Day Nursery.

Annemarie Rogan, Chief Executive of YMCA said, “A total of 1500 people come through our doors every week. Having recently completed a £1.4m refurbishment, we will be celebrating our centenary on site in 2012 and hosting an exciting new programme of services for everybody, young and old alike. We are delighted to now offer childcare facilities and look forward to working with the team from Schoolhouse.”

“Our facilities here at the YMCA are superb; an abundance of toys, a lovely light-well for outdoor play and nutritious home-cooked meals mean that all children can play, learn and love together with the support of highly qualified and dedicated staff,” adds Amanda Bennett of Schoolhouse Daycare.

“We are very proud to be running the facilities for YMCA and look forward to helping local families who need high quality and affordable childcare support.”
